Making Web Pages Easier to Read
- Open your browser by double clicking on the icon on the desktop. Click somewhere on the web page in your browser. Hold the left or right Ctrl key down with the "+" key and the text will enlarge. Keep doing this until you can read the text easily.
- To make the text smaller hold the Ctrl key down with the "-" key. If you have a Mac use the Command key that looks like a four-leaf-clover instead of the Ctrl key.
- Try it now on this page you are viewing.
Making the Screen Easier to Read
in Windows 7
- Right click on the Desktop area but not on an icon. The Desktop is where all your icons are for you programs.
- Click on Personalize.
- Click on the Window Color icon.
- Click on Advanced appearance settings.
You will see a window that looks like this screen shot:
- Select an Item. Here I have selected Icon and sized it to 32 (small).
- Select the Font. I've selected Comic San MS, sized it 9 (small), and bold.
- If you have problems turn off Windows Aero. Follow the instructions above and it should work. I didn't have trouble with this and I had Windows Aero on.
- Click OK.
