How to Copy Items From a Web Page...

The steps for copying items from a web page are slightly different than just select, right click, copy and paste. There are graphical images, photos, hypertext links that you may or may not want to copy but when you try to select just the text they get copied along with the text you selected or text comes with the image that you wanted to copy. If you use a simple text editor, e.g., notepad.exe, it will strip out all the images and links you selected. The steps are:

Copy Text from a Web Page
  1. Left click mouse and drag the mouse over the text.
  2. Right click mouse and select Copy.
  3. Open up the notepad.exe.
  4. Right click mouse and select Paste
Copy a Link from a Web Page.
  1. Left click mouse and drag the mouse over the link but start before the link in the empty space before the link. This will select the text.
  2. Right click mouse and select Copy.
  3. Paste the copy to a text editor.
  4. If you want the URL and not the text of the link. Right click on the mouse and select Copy Shortcut.
  5. Paste this to your text editor or browser.
Copy an Image from a Web Page.
  1. Right click mouse over the image and select Copy or Save Picture As. Copy will place it on the clipboard and Save Picture As will create an image file.
  2. Open up a word processor and paste the image into the document.
